Answers to common questions about beginning therapy and working together.
You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, if you wish to access Medicare rebates for sessions under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative, you will require a referral from your GP. This is known as a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and entitles you to 10 Medicare subsidised sessions per calendar year. Alternatively, if you have Private Health Insurance you may be entitled to a rebate through your provider.
I also see clients with NDIS funding who are self-managed.
Please send an email to info@concentricself.com if you would like more information about therapy, assessment, fees or current availability. If you are looking to commence working together, please provide a brief outline of what you are seeking. I will then get in touch let you know whether I have current availability, and if so, to organise a 15-minute chat to see whether I might be a good fit for you.
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2024-2025 has the standard 46-60 minute consultation fee at $318. In an effort to make my sessions more accessible, my standard 50-minute session fee is $275.
Fees may vary depending on the service being provided and a client's personal circumstances. More detail can be provided upon enquiry.
I am not able to provide crisis support.
In the event of a mental health emergency, contact your local crisis assessment and triage team or present to your nearest emergency department.
